which emulator i should install and what site?
and what are other things i may need to install?
Im not very good with computers but i can follow directions.
If you could say it in lamens terms that would be awesome

It makes sense for Sony to allow and support emulators because people still have to buy the games to use with the emulator. By Sony helping out an emulator company, they can make sure that the emulator only runs with original Playstation games, and not support copied games (which I am unsure if it does).
For companies like Nintendo, where the game can be copied to a ROM and distributed over the net, it doesn't make too much sense to support emulators because then people will not contriute any money to using a Nintendo product by getting the games entirely for free.
On thing I thought was cool is that Bleem was making a Playstation emulator for the Sega Dreamcast console. It is supposed to play Playstation games at a greater resolution and support full screen anti-aliasing. I don't even think the PS2 playes PS1 games at a greater resolution. Since hearing about that, I have been looking around to buy a cheap Dreamcast console (but can't find them anymore since Sega stopped making them).

Hey yea theres this web site where you can download like any consel game and yea im not very good on computers but sometimes i am.. well im not very much help i cant think of the website but just search PS1 Emulator and see what pops up. i know theres one out there my friend and i downloaded super nintendo emulator.. pretty cool!
