Yes, you will need to know your engine size to order a new transmission. Replaceing the tranny can be expensive though, you may want to look for a parts car similar to yours. I have found that many people that drive a kia saphia have this problem. You may want to look into some reviews on your car to find out if it is even worth replacing.

If you cannot find your registration, then you can most likly obtain a new one at the place you registered it. If this doesn't work, try a user manual that usually comes in the glove compartment of your car. You can also just pop the hood and see if it's painted right on the stop on the engine, it usually will say it there. Would look something like '1.6 liter' or '2.0 liter', something like that. That should be enough information to figure out which engine type you have. Good luck.

Probably not since the 2000 Kia Sephia only came with a 1.8L. Plus they only offered 2 transmissions. A manual trans and an automatic trans. So the only question you will get asked is if you have a manual trans or an automatic trans.

Is someone installing the transmission for you? If so, they will know what transmission to put in, since there is only 1 automatic transmission and 1 manual transmission model offered in the 2000 Kia Sephia. If you are installing it yourself, providing the year, make, model, and whether it's an automatic or manual transmission shoud be enough info for them to provide you with the proper transmission.

you should be able to get a tranny w/o the engine size and the sophia only had one enginne anyhow. make sure to include the vin number, you can find this under the driverside windshieldwiper or on the inside of the door its a series of 17 alphanumeric digits. and you can get a new registration from the DMV in your area.

typical kia. I just traded mine. It should probably still be under warranty under the drive-train thing, but chances are they'd find a reason to not warranty it. talk to a mechanic though and find out what they need to know.
