RAR is a file compression format. It is used, like zip compression to transfer large files over the internet. It does not work on your PC because you do not have any RAR program (such as WinRAR) installed. In order for you to open the file, first download and install a RAR program. After that you will be able to open it. Visit http://www.win-rar.com/

HI RAR is an archiving program like winzip. If you dont have the rar or winzip programs on your pc then your pc cannot recognise these files. You can get a free trial RAR file from www.rar.com or even if you get a winzip for free it works with RAR files. just google either rar or winzip and download the free version which works. good luck

rar it's compressed file. it has an algorithm which makes files smaller. to view the file compressed with rar you need a program called winrar for example. (http://www.rarlab.com/)
the process in which you get the original file is called decompression.
beware as many viruses come in emails attached and compressed with rar. make sure you first scan every compressed file you download with an anti virus program.

A .rar file is a compressed file, like a .zip file only using a different method.

Download QuickZip (or a number of other freeware utilities) and you will be able to read and unpack .rar files.
