What are the chances that an ex-Congressman, while awaiting trial for money laundering, would actually win this election?

I would say he has the same odds that some had when they lied to put us in Iraq.

There have been several admitted drug users who have won re-election so why would money laundering be any different. As long as they are willing to take money from the rich and give it to the poor people will vote for them. It doesn't seem to matter which party they belong to they are all politicians first and foremost.

Why not? If this country can not elect a president, why couldnt a loser like DeLay win back his seat in the House?

He is on the ballot and couldn't get off. It will be interesting to see if he cedes the seat to a democrat or runs himself - after stating he would not do so.
