You mean emancipate yourself from them?

It all depends on which part of the world you are, I think. It's only available in a few places -such as the USA and then, obviously, the child has to show maturity and compentance enough to gain court representation.

Here in the UK we have a thing called Family Mediation that helps families with issues with no charge and is completely impartial. They help teenagers move out of home and get their lives sorted. I'm sure other countries must have something similar.

I wish you luck.

Emancipation...It is a legal way for you to be recognized as an adult.
Go to a lawyer or search for emancipation here on yahoo to find out more info on how to file etc.
A lawyer would prob be best.
Also you may want to get a job if you don't already because if you "divorce" your parents you will be on your own. That means providing for yourself.

It's called Emancipation (aka "Emancipation of a Minoir)--the laws and specifics vary according to state, but some good general information is found here:

If you are responsible enough and can make it on your own, you can go to social services and file for a certificate of emancipation (in most states).

I would say that in most cases however you just need to talk to them and try to iron things out. Unless things are just that horrible, then possibly social services needs to step in any way.

To become emancipated from your parents? You need to talk to an attorney about that and if anyone gives you advice on here, it's unethical unless it's from an attorney. Kthanks!

You can file for legal emancipation, but the courts will only grant it to you if they feel it's in your best interest. In other words, they'll only grant it if your parents are being abusive or neglectful.

In NY i believe you can get married and be emancipated. But you also have to be a certian age to marry. Listen honey....is it really that bad with your parents? Because believe me you need them more then you think.

Why do you want to divorce your parent, honey? Because they won't let you run around like a deviant? Stick with em', honey and just stay mad because one day you WILL realize that they had it right all along.

i believe u would call that being emancipated. u would have 2 go to court and be able to prove that you are capable of taking care of yourself. that you are responsible enough to pay your own bills, rent and have employment . i think u may have to be a certain age as well
