Italian cheats...that's nice. They didn't set their schedule, nor their group, so don't go shooting off your mouth that way.
Besides, all through the the first round, weren't they calling it the group of death?
And what was England going to do? They were hanging by a thin thread throughout the tournament.
Do me a favor...if you're going to post something, make it intelligent, and don't call Italians cheats. I'm Italian, and there's no need for that.

The refs are the reason. The missed call on Malouda which should have been a penalty kick would have given France a 2-1 lead and because of their rock solid defense would have ended in a France win. Italy must paid off the refs to turn a blind eye to the Italian fouls. Zidane is the greatest footballer in the game and definitely in that game. And hell yeah Englands fans would kick Italian fans ***** on any given day. No fairy drama queens on France's team or in the stands just a talented group of French nationalists that gave Italy too much for Italy to play fair.

The point is clear to me, any team playing with 10 guys at the back does not deserve to be called great defense, the italians had nothing going from the 2nd half to the final whistle. As for the french, the have an amazing defense, 4 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders, rock solid! Unfortunately for France, the referee didn't see the foul on Malouda for a second penalty! Luckily for the italians, Trezeguet missed from the spot! It's part of soccer!

absolutely agree with you. The Italian team was a bunch of diving, sissy, whiny, hold my ankle because I'm too tired to run faggots. They should be ashamed of themselves for being World Cup champions on penalty kicks. That is the most arbitrary way of winning a championship ever. If this was a true championship team they would've proved it on the pitch and not at the expense of Barthez. Ugh, it pains me to see such a wonderful World Cup only to have the Italian crybabies win. I'm not a racist at all, Italian people are fine, but my God was this team a shame. Zidane done EXACTLY what I felt like doing, crushing my skull into the diaphragm of that whiny ***** Materazzi, he should have tributed his final game to skull smashing all those shameless champions. Did anyone see Gattuso run around in his underwear? I think Zidane was perfectly justified.

Do you even watch football? The Italian team deserves to win the world cup more then anybody else. Bufon makes incredible saves, their defence is the best in the world, and their foward and midfeilds have awseome plays and perfect aim. Italy outplayed France in the 1st half, France outplayed Italy in the 2nd half, but Italy beat them in the shootouts. So why didn;t they deserve it?? the reason we never played England was because they Didnt make it passed the top 8 after Portugal beat them.

Don't be sore that Italy won be sore that Zidane did what he did. I tip my hat to his amazing performances in the past but truth be told, he has a history of stomps, headbutts and even punches that have been recorded. Remember what Hemingway said, "courage is grace under pressure". Clearly there was nothing graceful about his cruel fouls, and by definition and by Hemingway's quote, there is nothing courageous about it either. As for diving... Diving is a term used by the opposing viewer to make themself feel better for a call they don't support. Remember if not for the referee's it would be a blood bath, maybe even worse than hockey. I believe Italy won fairly, they played passionately, and it's too bad that a foul causes second glances toward the victors. They defeated Germany in a colliseum consisting of tens of thousands of fans with only speckles of blue to be seen. They persevered through a HUGE loss when Alessandro Nesta was forced to warm the bench due to a thigh injury. Fabio Cannavaro was then substituted for Nesta and efficiently led the Italians to a 2006 World Cup Victory. I am Italian, I may be partially biased, but if Italy would have lost, I would not have screamed cheats, brutes, or another readily used term to take away fame. Who wins the world cup wins because THEY ARE THE BEST. Who knows maybe France will win 2010. But what I know now is that Italy won fairly, and the only possible unfair call is the penalty kick given to Zidane early in the game. It is soccer, let them play soccer. If a player falls because another player is trying to regain an offensive position for his team, think about repositioning the ball for the other team, but not by giving a penalty kick, ecspecially in such an early time of the game which was showed in the match between Italy vs France. Either way, biases aside, the 2006 FIFA worldcup final match between Italy and France was BEAUTIFUL. Endurance, each player showed by lasting until penalty kicks (amazing if you see their winding sprints). Determination, shown how each player fought for the ball using every legl limb they had to keep posession of the ball (watch Cannavaro fighting for the ball, it is a beautiful sight). Lastly, passion, by playing soccer for their team and country, defeating power house countries like: Brazil, who leads the world in the most first place holdings in the world cup, and Germany, being the favored team in the 2006 world cup and having a huge advantage of playing on their homeland. We are lucky to to view such a beautiful dislay of soccer (Zidane's action aside). Italy won fairly and has the right to say they are the best in the world. Trying to take that away (from the Italians that played beautifully to win the cup) is disgusting. Non ce'male Italia. Non c'e'male. Esposizione bella di pallone!

I understand your frustration but come on, you should know that the world cup has alot to do with luck, what group your in, who you get in the second round, how the refs are calling the game...etc
Get over it, and stop crying, I don't think that england would have won either, they barely beat equador to go though, your boys in the midfield couldnt get it done. England had the best midfield in the World Cup even to Brazil, they just had a bad outing.

The italians win was built on a solid defence, and a pair of fullbacks who were prepared to run up and down the line allday. They well deserved to win, and if you think england would have kicked their a** then you better take the blinkers off.
