for three weeks or so i have been experencing general pregnancy symptoms . I have also been on the shot for a year and have never had any sign of blood. last sunday i started 2 have light vaginal bleeding, only when i whipe which hasnt stoped. I have taken 2 tests that came out negative. then in the last two weeks ive been experiencing severe left abdominal pain than began spreding across the entire pelvic region as well as intenese cramps. For a couple days the pain pretty much dissapeared give or take a few minor pains. I went to the doctor on wednesday and the pain had become intese again. I told her of all the symptomns..(pain during/after sex and tenderness whiping after using the restroom , too) she gave me a UTI test - negative then i got a vaingal/pelvic ultrasound. she called this morning and said nothing was wrong and just let it at that like theres nothing wrong at all.. but i am still going through hell. Has anyone experineced somthing like this before? what happen to you?

I've had problems that required insistence and persistence with doctors. Endometriosis that was "written off" as nothing because I had a negative ultrasound - although it was causing me daily intense pain and nausea. I found out after surgery that I had many endo sites, including some on my ureter and that this was likely to have been responsible for most of my symptoms. Sometimes it is not visible on ultrasound.

I'm not suggesting that this is what you have, not at all. I am telling you this because I believe the only way I was able to get diagnosed and treated at that time was by being a severe pain in my doctor's ***. I had to go in to see her three times and insist that she do more to diagnose me instead of leaving it in the "let's wait for another symptom" stage as another symptom would have left me completely bed ridden. It is hard to do this, I know. Just remember you are being responsible and what you are asking for is not over and above what they are supposed to do.

I know that when a test is negative, there is a tendency for them to act like now nothing is wrong. This is rarely the case as most tests are just not that specific and/or sensitive. If the u/s was negative, your doctor may feel relatively confident that she has ruled out some stuff. If the UTI test (whatever that is...urine culture?) is negative, she has presumably ruled out UTI (assuming it was a sensitive test). But there are several other things that should reasonably be investigated at this point before you are declared in perfect health or idiopathically f*cked.

So you need to call your doctor back, say thanks for calling with the u/s results and what a relief to know that's clear (whatever, try to be polite as well as firm), BUT that you are not feeling any better and you'd like to see or talk to the doctor again to go over what else can be done to diagnose what is wrong with you. If she remains unwilling to look into this further at this point, she should at least be able to tell you what she believes is (or isn't) causing your symtpoms right now, and what her plan of treatment is at this point. She should also be able to tell you the following:
What has she ruled out as a result of the testing she has done?
At what point does she feel further evaluation would be warranted?
What do you do if it gets worse or your develop new symptoms?
(you may have to specifically ask these questions...doctors are human and you have no idea what else is going on in her office that day).

Remember, if you are still experiencing symptoms or they are getting worse, her having ruled out one or two things does not mean nothing is wrong. It means you need to continue to communicate that you are in pain and want help, you need to insist that they continue to do the job you and your insurance company are paying them to do. I know it's hard. Just keep pushing. Talking to her face to face instead of over the phone or communicating through phone messages might help, it puts a human face on the symptoms and it's harder for most people to be callous face to face.

Pain will raise your temperature, kill your appetite and ruin your life, as you know. Baylor is good. Try another doctor in a different field. Have you had any neck or spinal injury? Have they checked your brain? Just asking because if the cause is not in your gut, the nervous system or spinal/vertebral pressure is the only other thing I could think of. I have health problems that aren't addressed well by doctors, so I go for acupuncture. You may want to try it. I hope the doc's can help you. They don't know everything. Narcotics can knock me out, but they only make me unconscious, they do not touch my migraine pain. Narcotics also stop your intestinal peristalsis and slow everything down and cause constipation. I have terrible intestines. I have found the reason is in the design I was born with. Maybe you need the surgery to see what else may be going on in there. Just get a second or even third opinion first. Obviously it is not a common problem. There is a doctor somewhere who knows what this is.

Hate to say it hun but it sounds like you may have a chlamydia infection. It often presents no symptoms but in an advanced stage can cause bleading/painfull sex, un explained spotting, abdominal pain. It sometimes doesnt show up on std testing but worth checking. (you never know) Other than that it may be a side effect of being on the shot since ovum are not being released and you havent had a propper menstrual cycle since you been on it. My doctor recommended a month off every year jus be sure to use alternitive birth controll as you may end up pregnant with out ever having a cycle. best of luck on this hope you feel better soon.

You stated that the Doctor did a pelvic ultrasound but did they do a pelvic exam and take any cultures when they did the procedure? In other words, did they check for any STD's? If your insurance company won't pay for a second opinion there are community health places, walk in clinics, and planned parenthood places that you can go too. I know for some people it may be embarassing to go to places like this but if you don't feel that the Doctor is doing enough for you they are an option.

The shot always causes unexplainable problems in most women. Talk to women in the 40 to 45 age group that wee on the shot years ago...they all have ovarian cancer. Go off the shot and allow your body to have a period. Use spermicide or condoms for a months then start a monophasic birth control pill. You are now eligible for temporary medicaid. Apply and get the help you need.

my friend was like that for a while im not sure if you do this or not but if you drink alot of sodas stop and drink a bunch of cranberry juice and water. or it could be a miscarriage. I know you took pregnancy test but if all of a sudden you go to the bathroom and big clumps of blood comes out then you might be miscarrying. Im sorry to hear you feel that way and I hope you get well soon. I hope this works for you.

I think regardless of the cost, you should seek a second opinion..you may have fibroids..did she test you for that, or you can have gull stones in your galdbladder..those two can get pretty painful..you should inquire about those,, go to yahoo health and type in galdbladder and fibroids and check the symptoms out...hope you feel better!
