It could be dust that has accumulated in the cooling fan area. You have some options. Option one (if you're able): turn off your computer, disconnect all cables (don't worry about not being able to put them back on properly - they only go in the right way). Remove cover and blow out the dust with a can of compressed air. Option two: take it in to a computer repair place and let them do the same thing that you would be doing, but they'll probably charge $40-$50 and you still have to disconnect/reconnect everything. Option three: ignore it and hope for the best (not a good option). The other possiblity is the power supply is on its' final days. Unless you have done this before or know someone capable of doing it, it can be tricky if not done correctly. Again, the connectors only go where they're designed to go, but I would try the compressed air first.

fan, - there's 3 types, processor heatsink fan, the power supply fan, or another fan for the whole case.
Power supplies can cost $25 off the web, but make sure you get the correct kind. Otherwise, I take the power supply apart and cut the wires and replace the fan portion, and then reinstall the power supply.
While you've the case off, blow the dust out of every nook and crevice. Do it outside, the stuff is pretty skanky, -I'm not gonna tell what's really in that 'dust'.
For PM (preventive maintenance), you could just replace all the fans, just to make sure the computer stays cool for the next 3 years.

1) There is a lot of dust in your computer that is clogging up your fan. So, get some compressed air from walmart to remove the dust.
2) The fan itself is not working too well. You can try putting some WD40 to make the fan go smoother. If it does not help, you may need to replace it with a new fan.

It's the power supply, which is got a fan. It's on the back of your PC. It's cheap to fix, I had the same problem.

It's hot. Your PC needs more cooling so the fan kicks in more often.
Probably nothing is wrong.

Your fan bearings might be going out. This would cause considerable extra noise.

Bad gerbil. Feed it regularly to get it back up to speed.
Second guess is your fan system may be dirty and need a cleaning.
Cheers!

I think that maybe your computer has a virus. You should download a Virus Check and maybe it will make less noise.
