I just heard that they did find over 500 WMDs in Iraq but that the media isn't reporting this. The guy said that they were pre-Gulf War rockets that could no longer be shot but contain active nerve gasses that could have been put into newer weapons. Is this true? If so why isn't it all over the news????

It has been on the news, but not dramatically. They have found over 500 weapons containing mustard gas and Sarin or other chemical agents since 2003. They were old weapons, and not particularly potent at this point. The mainstream media isn't going to highlight the discovery because they have been too busy pushing against the war cause and they don't want to undermine their perceived moral justification. Unfortunately the discovery does back up the pre-war claims that Saddam had not destroyed his WMD's. It also raises the question about where he may have moved or hidden any more current WMD's that he had in his arsenal (many suspect they were moved to Syria). This was reported probably due to recent discussions in the Senate about declassified material.

Of course the right and left are still going to argue about the validity and/or relevance of the discoveries.

The third source listed below is a liberal take on the discussion.

Because it's not all over the news it isn't true. Remember when one little shell was found that was suspected to have serin in it, it was all over the news and people were like "see! we told you there were WMDs, now just wait and we'll find more". Well, if there were 500, the Bush administration would broadcast it everywhere to try and regain at least some credibility. So who knows, the military controls the media over there so much, you never know how much is much news is real and how much is propaganda.

Some people say "the liberal media won't show it". Well what about Fox News? Or every other media outlet in the world? idiots. not you. them.

I knew about the WMDs in Iraq at least 2 years ago, without looking hard to find out. The information was there for those who really wanted to find out, but it seems people didnt want to know, just like they are ignoring it now.

They just want to bash Bush, and trash America. They are brain dead mindless zombies on a leftist mission to harm the USA. I have no respect for them.

If it was true it would be on TV, otherwise it is a rumor.
