Heated discussions always turn into arguements because people are outspoken and misunderstand the point. Its simple rule of thumb... listen and take note and when its your turn to speak make sure you make your point clear

because people are nosy.
try having heated discussions in private, so people can't butt in. not alot of people like to witness heated discussions anyway.
it would be polite to find some privacy.

They just want to get a piece of the action, those people must have been deprived of attention when they were kids :p
