I moved into a new house last year. The grass is already grown, but the ground was not level, so when I cut the grass, I get bald spots when the wheels of the mower goes into a lower area. I do not want to put soil and grass seeds over the lower areas because there are too many to do. I was wondering "if" I water my lawn so much, if I can then take some type of roller and roll over the ground and maybe this might even things out. Any ideas?

I won't be able to drive my car over my grass or I will damage my sprinkler system. I also don't have a riding mower. My yard is too large to put down soil in every low spot, but will have to do this if I don't have any other suggestions

I tried that after we had several days of rain and the ground was already soaked. I watered more with a hose, did the roller thing and nothing happened. Wasn't worth the effort.
I ended up getting some loose soil and adding it to the low spots a little at a time so the existing grass grew through not making different color spots in the yard. If your yard is big, this is a tough way to go.

Ok! My grandfather taught me this years ago...
You need to find a rental store that rents either lawn equipment or a farmer in your area that has an old oil barrel or a cement wheel that has a large handle so you can push by hand or pull with a tractor or lawn mower. The oil barrel would need to be filled with water so that it has weight. Good luck. The car thing may leave ruts in your yard.

Go to your local lawn mower store and ask if they have a movable blade assembly that rises and fall as you ride your mower over the lawn. Note you must have a riding lawn mower to do this. Also ask them if the roller idea will work. Good luck.

Take your car and go back and forth on it, this really works, I did it when I moved in my house, The guy before me had sod laid and he never had it rolled, so I drove my car back and forth on it, Now I got the best yard in the neighborhood
