Let's break this down a bit.
If she is afraid the doctor will say she is imagining it, then this pretty much implies that she believes that it is real.
If she believes that it is real, it is irresponsible to ignore this symptom.
If she's also having other symptoms like pain, fever, nausea, changes in bowel habits, or problems breathing, she needs to go see a doctor as soon as possible.
Not wanting to be invalidated by a doctor is certainly a concern, but sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and say "f*ck it, my health is more important that what some asocial, insecure loser who is bitter about all his loan debt thinks of me". You dig? Your mom's an adult, she needs to act like one. Sorry if that sounds mean. I don't mean it to. I just think she should stop worrying what someone thinks of her if she believes this symptom is real and it's causing her problems.
You can ask around to people you know to get the name of a good compassionate doctor who's not an asocial loser (you might not want to put it like that exactly) - if you're an adult, ask your own doctor or friends at work. If you're a kid, ask your school nurse. Seriously. People who have a good doctor they like will tell you.

Having a doctor say you are imagining something is a sure sign that you need a new doctor. Go the the ER of a large teaching hospital. You will have to wait for a while but it will be worth it. Be sure that you go with her so that you can confirm that you have seen this too. They should do either of several tests depending on what you mean by abdomen.

It could possibly be internal bleeding. When you say that it is moving do you mean pulsating as with the beat of her heart? Does she have any other symptoms? Difficulty breathing, difference in her heart rate, weakness or tiredness? If any of these, or other symptoms, are present she desperately needs to be seen by a doctor and preferrably transported via ambulance.

It could be one of hundreds of intestinal problems, from Irritable Bowel Syndrome to Colitis, or it could simply be excessive gas or maybe a harmless hernia. Until she sees a doctor, however, it is impossible to know if it is serious or not.
If she isn't in pain, and it doesn't bother her excessively, then it is up to her whether or not she sees a doctor about it, and you have to respect that. Tell her you are concerned, and that a doctor should take any health concern seriously and so its unlikely they will think she's imagining it. After that, it is entirely up to her.

go to the drs with her that way you can say what you have seen which will help.
It could be pregnancy, a pregnancy test could put your mothers mind at rest.
It's also better to find out sooner rather than later in case it's something serious,
The sooner it is diagnosed the sooner it may get fixed

You can't make her go to the doctor but I would tell you to get her there. If you see it too then she obviously isn't imagining it. It would at least put both your minds at ease.
