my daughter. My husband and I have two boys. He had a little girl with someone else. Girls are not a big majority in his family. There is only one girl to every generation. Seeing as he had already had the girl we did not think that there was any way possible that we could have another. Well we tried to find out during the whole preg what the sex was but the baby would not let us see. The day that I gave birth is when I found out that It was a girl. She was born on Dec..8th, 2004. She was automatically fighting for her life. She was born with pnemotheorax...She had a whole in her lungs and no matter what the doctors were doing she rapidlly was loosing oxygen. She was transferred to another hospital were she stayed for almost three weeks. The doctors there were amazing!!! Hermans Childrens Memorial in Houston, Texas. They gopt her to breathing on her own after three days. She is healthy now and beautiful!!! That was the best present that I could have ever gotten!!!

hmmm...this is a tough one....I think I have to say it was the old barbie dream house (from the 70's)....
I had made a carboard house out of shoe boxes and other boxes (like a banana box, etc). I had it tilted on its side....but during the blizzard of 78..(it was a flood for us)..it washed away and got wrecked..as well as the play room that I use to play in....
So that following Christmas...my older siblings told me that I was getting nothing for Christmas because my parents were going thru a hard time. Since I was the youngest of 6, I thought that my siblings were right. I didn't expect anything. Everything that we got that year was home made...
My mom told all of us kids to go down to the cellar. My parents had made a new play room for us to play in..and for each of us, there was one store bought present.....and mine was the barbie dream house....it was all put together...and there was a little christmas tree decorated inside....and all my barbies were inside...as if it was christmas inside....it was AWESOME....
Memories! thank goodness for the happy times..things seemed so much easier as a kid!

When I was a young girl, mom used to let me look through the Sears Christmas catalog and pick things out. One year there was a doll that I wanted so bad - I remember it had on a yellow outfit and could crawl. Every day I'd stare at the page she was on and hope. When I got her for Christmas, it renewed my faith in Santa Claus. The first Christmas I had with my newborn son was precious for other reasons as you can imagine.

The best Christmas presents that I have received were my gifts from my nineteen year old daughter last year 2005. She works at target and took care of our family because I could not work because of pseudo gout. I had to stop working and she paid all of the bills and bought her baby sister everything she ever wanted. She also bought her older brother seven gifts that he wanted. She not only bought me everything to make the best Christmas dinner that we ever had, she also bought me sleep wear, under wear, and the DVDs that I never thought that I would have. I wish I could repay her for all she has done even though she say's I don't owe her anything. It's just what I wish I could do for a daughter who has done so much for her family unselfishly.

I am from the south but one year we lived in Denver. On Christmas Santa gave me a sled and God gave me snow. That was the best ever. It was the last Christmas I had with my grandmother before she passed away. Wonderful Christmas.

my parents sent me to munich, germany to visit my best friend in 6th grade. she was gone all year long, and we had never been apart for more than a week. i never ever expected to go, and i cried myself to sleep missing her almost every other night. because of the time difference and the cost of long distance calling, we rarely got to talk except for emails, but we were both really busy. it was really hard, and then on christmas i got my plane tickets, and we had the best time together. i'll never forget that trip, or the sacrifice my parents did to get me there.

My Father came home from the hospital for Christmas. He was so ill. Had just had carotid artery surgery. And said he was coming home. I guess he knew he was going to leave. He died April 27.

A green 3 speed bike because it was on my wishlist and at the time I didn't know how hard my parents were having it. It was years later that I'd find out and come to know it was my uncle that actually gave it.
