I worked at Disney and have been to them all. Disney World (Florida) is by far the best, but only if you go at a good time...summer IS NOT a good time. Early October, early November, and late January are all good times...less heat, shorter lines. Avoid holidays if at all possible. Also, the area down there is ideal if you want to do other things besides just sticking with Disney. You have Busch Gardens in Tampa and, of course, Universal Studios. Cape Canaveral is not far away and Sea World is a must if you have little ones. Don't stay at a Disney resort unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel, otherwise they are WAY too expensive for just sleeping. If you visit Epcot, stop at one of the gift shops and pick up a "passport" for the kids, they can get them stamped as they are going "around the world" (nice for memories).

As for Disneyland in CA and Tokyo, they are alright, but very crowded to me, even at non-peak times. Tokyo has a limit for entries, so your should get there early (by the way, went through "It's a Small World" three times and never found the US, but that was a long time ago when I was there...just ticked me off a bit).

Okay, probably more info than what you wanted, but like I said, I worked there and went several times a year...I LOVE IT!!!!

I like Disney world and its definitely some place you've got to go at least once, but I like Universal better

It depends on who's going with you. If is adults you may like Universal better, if you have kids Disney is the place to go.

Things to keep in mind:
Its FL its hot all the time, but its worst in the summer.
Avoid the summer months as well as school holidays', bc there will be LOTS of people.
If you can stay on site, they have two nice value hotels, staying there allows for you to either get in early or stay later.
Don't buy high price gifts in the park, International Drive has meny shops that sell almost the same thing for half the price.

Based only on 'big, scary roller coasters' as a measurement, maybe only 5/10 - Universal Worlds of Adventure might be a better bet. However, there's a LOT to do at Disney World besides just fast coasters.

Absolutely, I love it. I would say that it is more fun going during the off season when it isn't quite as busy. But I love it any time of the year.

Yes, but not in the hot summer months. I have been in July-HATED IT. May was nice, September is nice too. September the crowds are small. I am going in September this year and also in December.
