i did the head gasket on my 306 and now it wont start up

the engine turns but not firing

plugs are all in right order although i should check,timing is spot on,although it feels theres not much compression

Have you repositioned the cam shaft sensor correctly afterwards?

If it's out of range or too close then it won't let the engine turn.

first as the venerable jedi says (hello master fancy seeing you here, looking well!) check the plug leads have been put on the correct plugs.

sounds to me like you have probably moved or unsettled a piston ring and this is causing the compression gasses past the piston causing the feeling of no compression. if you can get a compression tester then do so and check. bad news being you may have to whip the head off again and re assemble making sure you havnt altered the valve timing.
