It's called implantation bleeding and it is just a few drops of blood, sometimes it colours normal pregnancy discharge to give the impression of more blood.
That said, if there is more blood, you experience pain, or have extreme cramps coupled with a head ache or back pain, go to the hospital. A miscarriage must be complete so that infection doesn't harm your future fertility.

I don't know what is the reason, but I can tell you that I had bleeding during my first pregnancy for three of the months, and my 14 year old is just fine, but I had it checked out by the doctor.
However, if you are bleeding, this could be a sign that something is truly wrong. You may be doing too much. You may be miscarrying, or you may just be having some minor irritation to your body that is causing some bleeding.
I'm concerned that you don't want to go to the doctor. It could mean something is irritating your body, or it could mean a torn placenta or something more serious. We're not doctors and how would you feel if you found out that by delaying calling the doctor you ended up losing the baby.
Please, at least call the doctor and tell them you really don't want to come in, but let them know specifically the days you are bleeding and the amount of bleeding.

Here is the deal. just because you are pregnant DOES NOT mean you stop having your period! you can have your period up to 7 months of pregnancy. You do not need to go to a doctor unless you are bleeding heavier then before you got pregnant or you feel worse then before. Anyway, you are going to go to get pre-natal care for your unborn child. Then again, it could be both your period and the stress you are going through. but, once again, you can be pregnant and still have your period.

Many women experience periods while pregnant. Some up until their 8th month. The 1 day period was probably implantation bleeding which occurs when the egg attaches to the wall of the uterus.

If you're over 6 weeks pregnant why don't you want to see a doctor. Even if your are in an uncomplicated pregnancy - you need prenatal care.
If you can't afford to see a doctor, or don't have insurance, there are OB clinics in many hospitals that will work with you to help work out a payment plan. Even with small payments and an adjusted pregnancy care and delivery cost.
Your baby deserves good care - if you care.

This is common. Some women have a period when pregnant. It may be lighter than normal, but you might want to call your doctor and just ask. They might tell you it is nothing to worry about.

well some people have a period while they are pregnant. although it could be something else. you should be seeing a doctor once a month by now, so i would just call my doctor's nurse and ask her what she thinks you should do. only they can tell you whether it's something to worry about or not.

Please tell me that you've at least GONE to the doctor for basic pre-natal care!! Please tell me!!! YOU NEED TO GO TO A DOCTOR!!
Now that I'm done ranting, it's possible to still have a period even though you're pregnant. It's not likely, but it's possible. My friend had a light period, very much like you're describing, her entire pregnancy. So it's not totally abnormal. But you still need to go to the doctor, as it could be a sign that the fetus is in distress or a sign of mis-carriage. Get it checked. PLEASE!!!!!!
