Of course it has be one of the players from the best team of Germany 2006, Juan Roman Riquelme was awsome, his passing skills are unbeatable, his vision and ability to read the play and set the tempo of the game are unique. A player out of this world, the argentinian wizard was a the center of the argies beautifull style of play

The Fifa Technical Study Committee or whatever awarded the Golden ball to Zinedine Zidane (France). However, this was before his headbutt. The silver ball goes to Cannavaro (Italy) and the bronze ball goes to Pirlo (Italy). Klose (Germany) got the golden shoe for having the most goals (5) and Buffon (Italy) got the Lev Yashin award given to the best goalkeeper (2 goals allowed).

Yes zidane played great, but threw it all away with his DISGUSTING move in the final game. Following that, Zidane should NOT have been able to recieve the golden ball award. ESPECIALLY as the CAPTAIN of his team. POOR POOR leadership....

I think the best player was Cannavaro. He did an awesome job defending...and very good captain. Sad he wasnt voted as that.

Cannavaro,great defensive player,with all the pressure(all the match-fixing scandals),he managed to stay focused,he is called now CannaWALL!!!

I think Podolski was a formidable player, so was Klose, but Zidane won it, and he deserves it as well, if we can forget the headbutt
