I know its real, and I've expirenced it first hand.
Usually my symptoms aren't as bad as actually getting up and walking around teh house btu I have been subconsciously sittup up in bed and talking to people them going back to sleep.
its so wierd because I'm aware I'm doing it but it feels just like a dream... [which is an inadequate way to describe it.]

MY son would sleep walk all the time. He had no memory of why he was in the closet or sometimes trying to leave the house. His body would tremble uncontrollably. I t was extremely impossible to wake him up. He didn't know his name , my name yet , he looked like he was wide awake. Thank God he outgrew this . An extremely horrible experience.

I am a sleepwalker and so is my daughter.
As a kid I would wake up in strange places (at least in my house).
As an adult my friends have caught me wandering, my daughter just walks around like she is awake.

I've never experienced it, but I have several cousins who have dealt with it. They didn't know they were until someone woke them. Be careful waking someone sleep walking, it can be hard on them because they don't know they are doing it.

yeah, its real
my girlfriend sleepwalks all the time. before we dated she had some really scary episodes.
but i am a light sleeper, so every time she tries to get out of bed at night I make sure that she is awake before i let her go.
