Look for any foods made for Koi by the Hikari company. I believe they make both flake and pellets for Koi. If you get pellets make sure you get a size small enough to fit in mouth for the age Koi you have. Believe me Hikari is one of the best fish food makers. They do research on nutritional requirements for various species. I felt sorry for a betta that was about an inch from death at Walmart with most his fins ripped off. I gave him Hikari betta food and clean filtered water and he turned into a beautiful fish. I give Hikari formulas to my other fish and people are astounded at how they grow.

Super silk fed at this time of year is best your local koi stockist should have it ideally to have the koi grow large you need to heat the pond during winter and continue feeding (expensive)
if you really want large fish try feeding them by hand they love prawns
just found a new growth food (brand new he just got it today) try your local koi stockist to see if they have it
