For years now, voter turnout has ranged from approximately 18 to 45 percent in a county that had to fight like hell to get the right to vote. Why don't they feel any need to validate the actions of the past?

I would suspect that voter turnout is low there the same as it is everywhere in this country. Because most people do not believe that one person can make a difference. It is not true but a lot of people believe it. So the answer is for you - me and everyone else to work hard to get the vote out and make changes

Good question.

Given that some of the older folks went through hell to secure that right, I think it's an affront to them not to take it seriously.
