Does anyone know if they are still going to make The Hobbit? If so does anyone know when it will come out in theaters?

as i understand they were, if lor did good in the box, it did not make as good as hoped so future sequels are in question. but then the longest running scifi in history was canceled early in its debut and viewer write ins has kept it alive for 30 years 5 series spin-offs and how many movies? (note star trek) So who knows it's Hollywood after all, anything is possible, look how many ''Rockies'' they put out.

Yes. The projected release date is in 2007. But there isn't an exact date yet. But I also hear they are not sure if they are going to even make The Hobbit.

Last I heard They were still fussing over the rights to the movie and that lawsuit between Peter Jackson and the production company as well the the lawsuit between the family of Tolkien and the royalties from the toys sales. As soon as that is resolved they are going to start filming. until then Peter Jackson is suppose to working on HALO based on the video game.

Eventually they will, but it still isn't on the list of films being made... so who knows. I'm surprised after the sucess of LOTR that it hasn't been made already. Maybe next year.

I'm a big fan, but I have no idea....they need to make it. I heard 2007 or something, but that was awhile ago.
