Must be this generation's Steely Dan or Elvin Bishop.
There used to be a group called "Ugly Kid Joe" so maybe it is because "Pretty Ricky" sounded better than calling themselves "Ugly Dick".

The group members are Baby Blu, Pleasure, Spectacular, and Slick Em who were originally called Pretty Rickie. When their older brother was in the group he was going to be the lead singer and they were going to be backup singers. and they were going to be called Pretty Ricky and the Maverix. Due to leagal disputes thex just dropped Maverix and made "Rickie" into "Ricky" to be more masculant. They also said they got the name Pretty Ricky from the girls at school.

Due to legal disputes, Slick, Spec, and Blue decided to drop the name "Maverix" and their band mate and brother, Prettie Rickie Rickie (Rick), and added their brother Marcus (Pleasure) and later called themselves "Pretty Ricky."
