Try to find out where they are coming in. Spray your home along baseboards and around doors with Bengal spray. Works great. Red can gold lid. They sell it at Walmart.

I just heard of a good organic way to do this. I have tried it and haven't seen anymore ants. Clean the litchen with a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Then put bay leaves around the edges of counters and floors. Hope this works for you. I don't know if the cats should eat the bay leaves so keep them away from them.

boric acid is a natural and very effective insecticide. you can get a large container from any hardware store. or sm. amt from any pharmacy but will cost more. mix 1 tbls boric to 4 oz water. can apply with a cotton ball or use spray bottle with stream flow or spray. good to rid you of many other crawley critters too. safe around children and pets. can use inside and outside

You will have to get help from an exterminator. We had the same problem and they didn't go away until we got a professional exterminator.
