As anybody as ever took time to tell gys that we do not like to get the : hey babe you got a cute... or the classi wistle... as far as i know never heard a woman happy about it. a nice : Miss you look very beautiful today is more then welcome but the wistle and the hey B..... as never been welcome and will never be....

I always hear that about men do that to women. But I was so nervous and i had to go up to that woman to let her know Miss you walk pass me and i had to ask that perfum smells great can you tell me what is it? she was nice enough to tell me what it was. I told her I think my wife would love that kind. Thanks you for your time tell me what it is.
I do hope this helps and I know you don't get alot of this often so I want to tell you that you do look beautiful even If I didn't see your face or what you look like but I can picture it you do look beauitful smile.

Because it works sometimes.
There is an old joke. Two guys are walking down the street and a beautiful girl is walking the other way. As she passes, the first guy asks the girl, "Hey, you wanna f*ck?" The girl slaps the guy and walks away. The guys keep walking and the second guy asks the first, "Do you say that to all the girls you meet? You must get slapped a lot." The first guy thinks for a second and says, "Yeah, but every now and then I get f*cked."
As long as there are women with low self-esteem who are willing to go home with jerks like this, there will alway be jerks whistling at girls.

It is true that they feel compelled to do something - they're not allowed
to jump you, so the best they can do is make noise, etc.
However, anything resembling formal communication, such as talking to
you, is taking a risk. You might reject them.
If they whistle at you, you have nothing to reject. So they won't feel rejected.
Be glad, though. If they didn't have the compulsion to make noise, etc,
then they wouldn't have the compulsion to get over the fear of rejection
and then they wouldn't try to meet you.
And the species would not surive and neither of us would be typing here.

Put it this way, we have just ran out of things to do or say. It seems at times that no matter how we approach you it doesn't matter you won't like it. If come at you like "Hey miss how u doin u look really nice today and was wondering if i could get ya name" Its nice but you would think he was corny. But if we say "Yo ma whats good im tryna get at u" were ignorant and don't know how to talk to women. SO U need to make your mind up and let someone know what yall like nice guys or gangsta

Most women don't like it, that is the classy women atleast. The skanks might like it though. It's rude, and usually makes women feel uncomfortable. Being polite is more of a way to get a woman.

I agree with you that the crude behavior is in poor taste, but my question is, why do some women get all dolled up and then take offense when a man looks, or makes a polite comment?

Whyt not simply accept a compliment with grace, or.... Ignore it, or toss a bantering retort to the guy. Have fun with it, or ignore it. Bellyaching about catcalls is looked at as the same as a girl who complains about how much of a burden it is to be as pretty as she... (and no, I'm not the type to give catcalls. It's just not my style I suppose)

A lot of times I respond to the "Hey! let me holla at u lil momma." It depends on how attractive the guy is, but there r times when i don't even look to find out and just ignore him. It depends on how I'm feeling that day.
