The Taiwanese have apparently had nuclear capability for some years, lacking only the actual implementation of a nuclear defense, including warhead assembly. This shift to a nuclear deterrent would seem to require about six to ten months for Taiwan, very similar to Japanese capabilities.

Yes...and neutron bombs. The Chinese communists should be made aware that an attack on Taiwan will result in their complete obliteration.

This is like going cause a HUGE tension to the world powers (Especially the US and China).
China can and will do an invasion (only its not "Now" nor will it be Forceful)
Besides doing something like this will only give China more reason to do an invasion Now. (It will only the speed up the process of China having Taiwan)
Besides the US can't afford to lose Taiwan to China.
This will only made China become the WORLD NO 1. (Which US don't want to see)
In short Taiwan will not do Nuclear Arms because of 2 main reasons.
1)External pressure (from US and China)
2) Internal Conflict (The country is still in political conflict with different political parties )

No, they shouldn't, anymore than Texas should arm against the United States.

Taiwan is a *part* of China, not an independent coutry. It has no legal standing in the international community.

Absolutely not! It would further destablize the area and would probably lead to a general conflict with China.

Yes I think they should and I think we should help them. It seems to me that we are happy to arm our enemies but refuse to arm our friends.
