His early work, even his middle work (everything up through the late 80s/early 90s) is some of the best crafted pop ever. I'm not normally a big pop fan - into punk, real country, that kind of thing - but the production and work put into his songs was mighty impressive. Some of his songs will be classic hits for a long, long time - Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It. And that's not even touching on his first hits with the Jackson 5.

people seem to forget how rough michael jackson's life was when he was a child. growing up with joe jackson was no joke. he missed out on his childhood, nothing was good enough for his farther. therefore i think that is why he has gone through all those surgeries and the reason for neverland it was a place that he could be a kid and a place for other underpriveliged kids to be NORMAL kids. I think that people took and are still taking advantage of him......LET US NOT FORGET THAT HE HIS THE KING OF POP and that will never change

Things are quiet on the Michael Jackson front. That...is not wrong...it's great because he has received far too much attention.

He was abused as a child and he used his music as an outlet...what needs to be done is his father needs to be held accountable for his abuse...they need to as a family stop the cycle of abuse...because it is not only Michael with these issues...and SHED LIGHT ON CHILD STARS WHOSE PARENTS GO OVERBOARD...If we investigate all the child stars who have had problems..you will find a parent at the root of those problems...Michael was molested and beaten...as were the rest of his sisters and brothers...THEY ALL HAVE ISSUES...due to this abuse...and is it is sad that know one has addressed those problems...abuse happens to child stars too but we don't know about it until after the child star has hit rock bottom or has abused some one else...It is a pattern that needs to stop...

I feel sorry for him. He's made some amazingly bad choices and squandered what was a huge musical gift. I think he's a good example of the fact that money and fame do NOT equal inner peace or a happy life.

We all look at MJ as a "freak", but he may be making money off all of us who are entertaining his downfalls. MJ is a businessman and the more the media focuses on him, the more money he makes from them. Face it, his records aren't like they use to be, so he has to stay in the public eye some kind of way to make money.

He did define an entire new dance scheme taken on by many
music video performers since then.
He actually had a remarkable voice as a pre-teen, if you could
stand that sort of group song.
Other than that, I am drawing a blank...

Does anyone know his childhood story? The real one? I've not heard many that do. As crazy as it may often come, there is rhyme and reason to all madness. Besides, who can say he's a bad dancer?
