Sure, if you don't mind being called Total Jerk. Or Tomato Juice. Or hundreds of other possibilities.
Initials are not a name, so they will be assumed to stand for something.
Changing your name is a very serious step that should not be a quick decision. Perhaps you could get by with, "My name is [fill in your name,] but I go by TJ." But you still might get asked what TJ stands for!

be proud of your own name, whatever the name is. If you change your name, you've lost your proud of it.
