"They express their patriotism their way"- See, that crap only works in the insulated world of 3rd grade. In the real world, there are real consequences to speech and actions. Leaving for Canada when thousands of others answer the call to duty is not patriotism, it is f-ing cowardice. There's no "open" space for an opinion on that one.

Hey Dr. Watson. I think you need to look at the picture again more closely to see that those gentlemen pictured ditched his fellow soldiers to avoid going overseas to do his job. Soldiers dont have to agree as to the reasons why you go over seas, but in the army you follow orders and you do as you are told. His actions are inappropriate and should be extremely offensive to you. So yes, he is a coward as he showed disrespect to his country and most importantly to his fellow vets which include chaps like yourself...

I'm a Vet (two tours in Nam and one in Granada) and work with Vets every day and from my experiences I think I can speak for most Vets in saying you are insulting those who have served their country when you stereotype.

So, he volunteered to join the military, which, amazingly enough (!!), specializes in breaking things and killing people, and teaches him to do so. Then, when he is called to earn his money, he runs away like a little girl who soiled her panties. That's no hero, unless you warp and twist the definition until it is unrecognizable.
