LOL-why get a baby book when you have all the names here? It all depends on what kind of name you are looking for-do you want something people will recognize and know how to spell or do you want something unique? I named my son Theophilus from Acts/Luke in the Bible. I loved it because of its meaning-Lover of God. I get funny looks and even funnier pronunciations when people find out my baby's name. We call him Theo-which helps. But definately do whatever you feel is best-no matter how odd it seems. You could also name him after a relative-grandparents love being honored in this way-even if it is a middle name.

I am 31 wks. pregnant and also having a boy. We are naming our little guy Damien Michael. I also liked Timothy James, Joseph Michael, Stephen, Victor, and Phillip. When we named our daughter we couldn't decide which name we liked either. My husband liked Elizabeth and I liked Beth. So I looked in a baby name book and found Bethany. My husband loved it and it fits my daughter well now three. So in a way we both won.

When I was pregnant, my husband and I had the same problem! What we did was each made a list of names that we liked (first and middle names) and then we compared lists. We marked off everything that didn't match and then made our final decision (Ethan Scott) based on what was left! That way we knew we both agreed on the names, since we both picked them! Good luck!

Get a baby book and each of you look through it. You each should make a list of names that you like and names that you hate. Then compare the lists to narrow them down. Once you find that you have names in common that you like you can then decide from that. That is how we decided on our son's name.

I recommend you buy a book and discuss with your family the ones that you like best. You can name your child after a favorite family member or influential person in your life but that's a personal decision that takes some thought.

We names our son Ryan Alexander. Not way over-used like some names, and not weird. Don't pick something too bizzare because you need to think of the child when they are in school. You don't want him to get picked on because he has a strange name.
