What difference does it make? The world and solar system we live in will be nothing by the time the entire universe ends.

Because of how ugly it's getting in the world. Our society has crumbled to an unsatisfactory acceptance of what is alright. Integrity and truth has slipped! People have made the mistake of following the masses, do you? I read and listen to wonderful things about free enterprise, taking control and making a difference. It all starts with where I shop, if you can believe it, it can change your world, too. You can read some if you click on C.G and view my 360 page..........The world has got to change, one person, one household at a time. What are your alternatives? Stay with the masses or find another way? We all have a responsibility to our future.......... it's scary to see how many sluff it off. Maybe the pessimistic would be more optimistic?

Questions about things such as fate of the universe dominate popular science. As this is not a professional science forum, one will expect to have questions such as this, as well as about extraterrestrial life, space flight, and black holes. They are fascinating things to all people, especially to those who have not had the chance to experience some of the more beautiful questions in astronomy that people overlook-such as those about the origins of the elements, the development of galaxies, and the geology of other planets. I don't see it as pessimistic, rather as wonder, but wonder which is crying out to know more about the universe in general.

i think because the idea of eternity is important to people, because our lives are so short and oblivion so uncomfortable to come to terms with

but eternity is not a nice idea either (can you imagine still logging onto yahoo answers in 100 trillion billion years time?!)

however, if the universe has an end - which well it might - it calls even eternity into question

for what its worth, i think they should get over themselved - they will be dead long before any of it matters, and there are better things to do with your life to give it value than to ponder the unreachable infinite

By my definition the universe is everything that physically exists. If the universe comes to an end there will be nothing, no dust just nothing, not even blackness because blackness is something. That just sound too proposterus to be true

Why shouldnt there be. There's a lot that we dont know about space and naturally that sparks a whole lot of interest amongst many. There's really nothing pessimistic about it. Just plain healthy curiosity and interest.

Really? The universe will never end. Our planet will eventually, but not the universe! It will exist in some form or another for eternity.

If everyone were realists then the world would have been a better place to live in!!

But, I guess its just another question that has no certain answer and people tend to be more curious about it.

'cause as the human beign born... the human being will disappear... maybe in thousands of thousands of years...

maybe sooner, with the incapacity of political leaders to control their army.

Who knows?

The only thing is... it's natural for somebody to ask himself...when and how... it's just normal.
