Someone in high school was talking about me behind my back....unfortunately for her, she was talking about me to my best friend. The girl ran with a bad crowd, so I decided confrontation wasn't the best idea, so I simply stopped trusting her and didn't tell her anything I didn't want anyone else to know. I'm sure other people talked about me in high school too, since I was known as "that creepy witch girl".

depends on situation; speaking directly to the person, making a comment or asking what the goal is, would be the best; in less important situations, it is sometimes the best to ignore the back-talking. Ever stay cool, never get hot, control the situation.
(now I used the word situation three times, time to leave... ;-)

i would confront them and ask if they were actually talkin behind my back and that if they lied they wouldnt be my friend becuz i wouldn't be able to trust them. if they say no and i can tell that they're lying i'd be like: how come you couldn't say it to my face or come talk to me? and that i don't appreciate them talkin about me. then i would probably tell them off.
