I took BC pills for several years too. I went off of them in Oct and got pregnant in November! It all depends on your body. If you want sources...do a search about risks of birth control pills. I've read articles that it's not good to take hormones for an extended length of time. It messes up your hormonal balance. Not to mention there is concern about different cancers and other health risks. Talk to your ob/gyn if your really concerned!

I got pregnant 2x while on the pill. I finally resorted to having an IUD put in. I think it just depends on the person on how long it will take to get pregnant. I have never heard anything about it not being healthy to be on the pill. I know that if you are on the shot you are only supposed to be on it for no longer then 5 yrs. Then you are supposed to get off it w/another form of birth control for at least a year to flush your system out.

the opposite is true, when you stop the pill you are acctually more fertile than ever. I got pregnant after 1 month of trying and was on the piil for 4 years. The doctor told me this is why. If you ever have trouble getting pregnant, some doctors will put you on the pill for 2 weeks and then you will usually become pregnant within 2 months.

I took the pill for five years and I got pregnant after only six months. My mother took the pill for a long time and got pregnant with me after only one month. So it really depends on the person. Good luck and best wishes!

Not for all women. My sister-in-law was on the pill for 10 years and she forgot to take a few and got pregnant with my niece, and 10 years later the same thing happened again.

i think it has more to do with your personal fertility. You're most fertile in your early 20's. After you stop the pill it should only take you afew months to have the extra hormones completely out of your system. I would give it some time before you worry.
