When I dress up to go anywhere, I never get a second glance, but when I go to the store in my "house cleaning clothes" and I think I look my worst, I ALWAYS get hit on or flirted with... Does this ever happen to any of you? Guys feel free to comment on why you do this.

Maybe it isn't the clothes. Perhaps when you are dressed casually, you are comfortable and exude confidence. When you dress up; you are seeking attention, even of just a comment on agreat dress, maybe you are more self conscious and inadvertently less confident.
It is the inner person that usually gets attention despite our focus on external beauty

Thank you for posting this question! This scenario happens to me all the time. Last month, I went grocery shopping after hitting the gym for three hours. My makeup had worn off, my hair was in a ponytail and I was wearing my t-shirt and yoga pants, and I got asked out on a date by a guy. Other times, I put myself together carefully and guys will look, but rarely approach. I think casual clothes make a person more approachable.

Yeah that happens 2 me all the time...i guess guys find it easier 2 approach u when ur dressed down...when ur all dressed up guys probabaly think ur out of their league and it discourages them from talking 2 u...but that's just my guess...i really dont know how guys think...

Well it was explained to me like this by one of my guy friends. When you dress up, you look great. So great that guys are intimidated by you and don't think they have a chance so they don't bother. When you look crappy even the ugliest, poorest guy thinks he has a legitimate chance and is not in the least intimidated.

Yes, I think it's because your more approachable when you are dressed casual then when you go all out to look your best.

Yes that's so the truth. Or when I do look really good, the only guys that hit on me are horribly ugly (yes, to me, looks matter at first).

Yes I never could understand that. I think it is that you seem more approachable when you are not all dolled up. When you are all dolled up they may think that you are out of their league and they do not even try.

that never happens when i dress like a slut i get a lil less looks but when i dress up i get lots of looks
