I am going on vacation the 20th of this month and I should be on my period then, I am taking pills so can I take extra pills or something to make it start the next week or something? I don't want to be on my period while I am gone.

I had to do this because of my wedding... no way was I wearing a white wedding dress with THAT going on! I just took my birth control one extra week... or two. It's not supposed to hurt your body, and I do it all the time (for vacations and such) If you are worried about messing up your cycle because of fertility, don't worry, I am now pregnant after only one month of trying... it did no harm.

You can take all active pills for this month, do not take the inactive, this will start your period, throw them away, and start a new pack the next day. You may get a small pink bleeding, but it will stop after a day. (not enough to even where a pad with)

If you are on the pill, it is perfectly safe to start the next packet and take them for an extra week to delay your period. A lot of women do this without problems.

Continue with your pills--your active pills if you have the kind that include inert pills in the package.

Some women stop their periods altogether by taking the pill continuously, but this is not a good idea.

You will have to address the problem of running out of your prescription early.

I asked my doc about this before when I was on the pill and he told me that it wan't harmful to take another pack of pills immediately without having a break inbetween them (I was on Cilest and have done this with Dianette too). It'll stop you from having a 'bleed' as you won't have a 7 day break. You can carry on taking them as normal once you've finished your second pack. I'd check with your doctor though just to make sure its ok with the pill you're on,
