My sister is 13 years old, and still very much a tomboy. She spends no time with her appearance, and the only way she brushes her hair most days is when my mom makes her! She prefers to hang out with guys, and do "guy things" like wrestle and play football. She also shows no "interest" in boys, and claims she doesnt have crushes. I've liked boys since I was 12! Is she a late bloomer, or is something here not right?
Thanks!

Not at all...she is fine. 20 years ago when I was 13 girls did not really like boys at all...not like today. We didn't think about sex and talk about boys. She will come around in her own time if anything I would say she is the normal one.

I give you a lot of credit for caring about your younger sister! Congrats to you for thinking of her! We have our youngest, who is now 14 years old, and until this year, with two older brothers(who she hangs out with their friends too)who are protective of her, lol, and she was very much a tomboy. Then she became we call her, half/half, half girl, half boy, and now oh Lord, the hormones are kicking in more and more, so that she is loving every boy going by her!!!LOL We never ever thought she would,,,,,,,,,,,so I think that your sis may be a late bloomer, give her time. Everybody is different is what I've learned as a parent even!!!! :) Relax and keep doing the great job you are as a big sis!

She's probably a late bloomer. But she could also just be a female who identifies more strongly with her masculine side. I don't really think its for you to worry about. She is who she is and is the master of her own destiny. You can't change who she is becoming. Some girls don't like all the girly fru fru stuff.

shes just a late bloomer! I have a best friend whos totally like that but now that shes getting older, shes started to start wearing more "girl" clothes. Of course, I cant get her to wear makeup yet....but we'll see. Girl, you have nothing to worry about! I'm almost positive she wont be like that forever. She'll scrunge down eventually! probably when she gets to High School

She could just be a late bloomer. If you feel concerned just ask her the things you've asked us. Offer to give her a makeover or manicure/pedicure. Good Luck♥

Everyone matures at different rates. Let her be. She is different than you, and she's growing up at her own speed. I think it's great that she's not "into" boys yet--she'll be more able to concentrate on school and such. She'll get there. :) But it's awesome that you worry about your baby sis.

My sister was like that too when she was that age. Didn't start changing till she was 14. Now she is 24 and is super girly, but she observed my mother and I too.

She is doing fine, she just has a little different make-up then you did. Let her find boys in her own time, she will get there.
