Yes. He headbutted another player, and he did it intentionally.
No matter what the other guy told him, he shouldn't have done that. He's regarded as an idol by thousands of fans, he certainly has been a great professional player, so, as a pro, he should have taken it professionally. He should have thought about his team, who needed him, first. He could have headbutted or beaten the guy after the game, if he really insulted him.

Hello,
As they are professionals...
They are expected to act as one...
It doesn't matter what was said to Zidane...
He was wrong in his reaction...
And yes, tossing his a*s was the right thing to do...
And in my opinion, the late sub of taking out Henry, and then Zidanes poor judgement cost France the game...
Those were their to best players by far...
I do not feel sorry for Zidane either...
It was supposed to be his last World Cup game...
And to go out like he did was his own making...
Instead of being remembered as the great Zidane...
He will be judged by this mistake first, and then how great a player he was in the beautiful game...

btw... players always say sh1t to the other team to make them mad.. its not the first time therefore zidane should have controled himself

Yes but posters like iris09 and
soimpossilble would say otherwise, according to her zidane was justifed in doing so.
Zidane deserved the red card for acting the way he did
to poster soimpossilble explain WHY you agree? Let me guess according to you zidane has the right to act unprofessional simply because someone insulted him? right?

yeap, that was obviously an agression, the referee took the right decision, he didn't got intimidated by the whole image of Zizou and he did the right thing...it wouldn't be fair to let him stay on the game, everybody saw the fault
..I still cannot believe it , though, why he reacted like that?, what did the guy said to him?, in a single act he spoiled everything :( ; he is still among the best players but he'll be finishing all his career with a red card :(

While i agree with what Zidane did 5000%,the ref did the right thing in giving him a red card. It's a sport and there are rules, and on that note the rules that soccer has is what sets it apart from other sports. It's what makes it the great sport it is.

Of course he should not have been sent off. All he did was head butt the Italian in the chest. It might have seemed violent, and it might have looked violent, and Zidane may have intended it to be violent...................... Wait a moment, of course it was violent behavior and I change my mind. He should have been sent off and honestly and sincerely, he should never be allowed to play football ever again. (I do know he intended to retire after the match). No one should be allowed to behave like that with millions of children and young impressionable people watching all over the world. I honestly believe that he should never again be allowed to have anything to do with football. Shame on him.

If the 4th official saw it (like they say) then fair enough he deserved to go. if they used video evidence then that's a bit harsh. especially if you think of Figo vs Holland.
There is no doubt he deserved the red but we must not let this be what we remember of him. The bloke was a genius who did it on the biggest stages of all and probably one of the best players of all time.
