yes, I would take some steel to the junk yard for the other five dollars

No way would I steal. (And I forgive you for not knowing the correct spelling.) Someone said you can get three meals for $10. You can get more than that! They may not be gormet meals, or even taste all that good, but you can eat for more than three meals on $10. I lived for a week on tea and toast for no more than that, until more money came in.

Stealing is never the way. There are some good people out there who will help you out if you come to this stage in life. Some churches have food banks where you can get food at no cost. You only have to ask. And don't feel bad about asking. Good people deserve the opportunity to do good works and should be blessed for doing so.

Why do you need an extra five for food? You can eat a healthy, well-balanced diet for a few dollars per day, so why do you "need" 15?

Stealing is not the answer. What if the person from whom you steal the money needed that five dollars for something important to them? What makes you so special that you should not have to do without?

If you need five dollars, go EARN it or beg for it. Taking something that does not belong to you is always wrong.

Why would you need $15 for food. You could eat 3 meals on $10 if you are smart.

Stealing (not steeling) is always wrong.

Why do you need $15 worth? I agree buy $10. Visit an Aldi's, buy cheap pasta, cheap canned beans, cheap bread...

Now is it a matter of life and death? Or TRUE NEED... Your baby has to have X brand formula, allergic to less expensive brands, the small can is $11... I guess in that extreme case I'd do what I had to do.

But I'd also find money to buy seeds to start growing my own food and find a second job...

No, just get less expensive food and make do with the $10 you have. Stealing is not a good option. More downside than upside there that is definitely not worth $5.

You can always hang out at the grocery store and get at least $5 of "samples" they're pushing. The deli always lets you try before you buy and if you're in an area where there are more than one store, you can practically get a whole meal! You can be creative without being criminal.

no, I would make do with just 10. It can be done. Stealing is not the answer. Believe me, I have a family of 4 and we are constantly stretching our grocery budget....it works.

sure if i had too, i'd beg borrow steal or kill for my own survival, but i could eat for a week on 10 dollars, box of spaggetti=.99 cents, loaf of bread=1.99, sauce=2.50 (but don't need it), peanut butter and jelly=3$ for the cheap brand, 1.5 left for a 2 liter of cola or tax.
