Speaking as someone who worked in the theater business and put movies together I think I can answer this. When a movie is made for the big screen it is fromatted for the lenses on a movie projector. The lenses can either be flat causing the movie to take up the entire screen or scope taking up part of the screen. When it goes to DVD or VHS this formatting has to be changed into a smaller version so Television lenses can show the movie onto that screen.

I think it means the film was formatted to fit your tv. They resized it for the smaller monitor.

it means it was cut to fit the size of the t.v. screen (no black lines at the top like wide screen)

it means they made it full screen instead of wider something. it just fits ur screen
