I know if we can remove some of the peer pressure, and give gay teens "safe" places to hang out with others, that will help many of them.

Do you have any specific ideas that have worked in your community?

I know this is a very serious problem, so serious answers only, please.

I work hard to educate parents and adults and peers. Including teachers and school counselors, but especially parents. Help them understand in advance that THEIR KID might be gay and help them practice being accepting and learn the consequences of rejecting gay kids (suicide could be one). Start with parents of really young kids. Tell EVERY PARENT you meet that their kid might turn out to be gay. At least get them thinking about it. Help them accept and make room for the possiblity in their life.
Work also in churches to help the adults and youth programs be more accepting.

The teens need to know that they have someone that they can talk to. That is the most important thing. I was at the stage myself. I remember feelings of hatred towards myself for the thoughts that I was having towards men. It was becuase of the conditions that my family and religion had placed. The education factor is very important. However my parents are intelligent and have even had gay relatives, they still treated me horrible. This is one of the problems. It is definately not something that can be taught the normal way. It takes a lot of work to break down the conditions of society. I am actually glad that I am a gay man that had the conditions broken for me.

Be as understanding as you can be. A great book that probably saved my life was "Prayers for Bobby". It was about a boy that was going through the same things with his religion, however, he actually did kill himself. This really helped me in understanding.

Gay kids should be able to come out at a younger age and be accepted by society as they are, schools should be prepared to look for clues as earlt as kindergarden and the obvious track to take is much appreciation and love for the child and therapy for the parents not the child....children have no need to examine their morals...it is the onus of the parent to change their stigma, and to learn to love the child regardless of gender expression....come on people....grow up and taste the coffee, it is still sweet, if you add the sugar ( kisses ) add some love, love!
Learn what you must in order to love gay people, befriend these lovely people....the world is opening like a flower...gay folk are never going away....we must LOVE our neighbors, hate is a foul poison...it poisons you first, then the atmosphere all about you.
it is time to shine kids....let no one crowd your brain with hateful thoughts.

gay suicides are not extra significant, they're in simple terms being stated on the time more advantageous than others because all of it pertains to at least one element and the topic is being fought over all round. each and every suicide is poor and tragic, no individual more advantageous than yet another, yet this helps teach factors for LGBT rights. they're being targeted on for now, yet that doesn't propose each and each and every of the others are all forgotten and meaningless. Femme gays do not choose to be femme any more advantageous than you chosen to be gay, do not make that assumption. there is not in simple terms one type of gay, attempt to comprehend all of them slightly extra acceptable. and there is not something incorrect with being transsexual, that is in simple terms the way they're. and they don't grow to be transsexual, they already are and decide to act on it. there is also not something incorrect with being flamboyant and there is not something incorrect with gay pride (which isn't crap). there is not any thanks to act like a male or female, perhaps you're the only doing it incorrect and each and each and every of the femme gays are doing it accurate. Ever imagine of that? certain, the area would nonetheless be there. it would nicely be taken in a unique way, yet see you later as they're gay, they're diverse, so as that they are going to be discriminated antagonistic to. ok, people should not be blamed for a gay youngster's suicide (or all of us's), yet yet perhaps they ought to. Yea, it become the teen that killed him/ herself, yet there had to be a reason. If a boy become continually teased, beat up, dealt with badly, unloved, abused, used, and conventional people in simple terms weren't useful to him, why might want to he want to stay? If existence is poor and depressing, what's the point of residing it? the position as if all of us is accepting, useful, sweet, expertise, and okay to him, existence's not likely to be as undesirable, and probably will be nicely worth residing. See the version? people commonly have a reason behind committing suicide, and that is many times the way people cope with them that has consequences on it the most. i'm commencing to imagine you're actual not gay, actual are homophobic, and are a troll. Get out of the following.

I think as a queer (bisexual/lesbian As i don't know weather I'd actually sleep with a boy) Girl If we included more books in school libreys (middle school & up) we'd prevent the suicide of nemouros gay teens. In my school we lacked very many non-sexual gay books but I being one of the kids who reccomended books I informed the libraien who ordered them.

We need to start education the parents of the community so they can treat their children as loved children ratherthan outcasts. By no means should we take responsibility for other people's children, but we should help others take responsibility for their own
