AnXIETY AND NERVES CAUSE A MUSCLE JUST ON TOP OF THE STOMACH TO contract and press down on the lining of the stomach, and this causes that falling unexplainable feeling, there are also chemicals involved but I cant remember much more

adrenaline is released when your nervous and it diverts blood away from your digestive system to your brain heart and lungs, so because the the blood rushes away very quickly it turns your stomach muscles to jelly so you get a weird feeling commonly known as butterflies.

Biologicaly speaking it's blood rushing from your stomach to the organs or muscles most likely to need it, dependant on the given situation. Like in fight or flight.
