I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and your Doctor is an idiot. ALL lumps must be investigated. You could have breast cancer or just a tissue mass. Only a scan can tell you what is wrong, your GP does not have xray eyes. If you don't insist on a scan it may be to late to do anything for you and you could die. If you have breast cancer it can spread to other parts of the body through your lymph nodes.Antibiotics will NOT cure your problem unless it's a cyst so GO NOW!! What have you got to lose?

Don't be afraid to go back to your doctor and ask for a mammogram. Even if you are on an antibiotic it would not hurt just to make sure all is well. You do have a right to a second opinion. It's one of the many patient rights out there. If you are at least 35 yo you should have a baseline mammogram anyway. Good luck!

I went on antiobiotics after i stopped brestfeeding my son-- i had mastitis which is just a pure blockage in the breat tissue-- causing a lot of pain and a lump. Is this for the same reason?? Although it could be hormonal but if you are worried you should go back to the g.p and ask for a second opnion

Although there is need to be of concern, you shouldnt let it dominate your lives. It does not mean you have cancer etc, the doctor prescribed antiobiotics to see if it is a infected lymph node. Thats all, my tip is 'get on with your life as normal'

If they think is it nothing I wouldn't worry about it too much. You could have a biopsy or a needle aspiration and that would provide what it is.
