This doesn't sound like an electrical problem, but unless we know what kind of car it is, we would only be guessing. The primary question is this: Does the car start well and idle at the same speed it always has? I suspect it does not, especially when warm. To check it, start the car, allow it to get to operating temp and then put it in gear with your foot on the brake. Does the car now try to die?
It is possible that you may either need a slight adjustment, something as easy as a bad plug wire or perhaps you need a complete tune up. My advice is to have it fixed before you get in an accident because of it. Please consult a trusted mechanic.

It could be a myriad of problems. Anything like, clogged fuel filter, in need of a tune-up, idling too low, bad alternator. Those are probably the most common reasons for your problem. I can say for sure that it's definitely NOT your battery. However, if your battery went dead recently and now you are having problems with your car dying and the battery going dead again, 9 times out of 10, your alternator has gone bad. It's common and typically not a pricey repair.
