I have a memory of seeing a picture (photo?) of one of the queens of England (I assume it was a queen of England) that showed her wearing a multi-strand pearl necklace(s) that started as a choker and continued down to cover most of her chest. I think it had a broach in the middle causing the effect to be that of a rounded "w" on her chest. It had to be made up of dozens of strands of pearls but I'm not sure.

If anyone has a link to an image of it they can provide and/or knows which queen wore it, I'd be much appreciative.

It's probably Queen Elizabeth I you're thinking of; but Queen Alexandra always wore chokers and high necks due to her self-consciousness about a scar.
"Princess Alexandra of Denmark (1 December 1844–20 November 1925), later Queen Alexandra, was the Queen Consort of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom."

Queen Alexandra of England and Queen Mary of England both wore massive pearl necklaces and chokers. Queen Alexandra started the trend for chokers to cover up a defect on her neck.

I'm going with Elizabeth I. SHe was known for flaunting her wealth and being overly gaudy with her pearls. SHe even strung them up in her hair. But below is a link to a picture (portrait) of her with a crazy strand wrapped across her throat and neck Hope it's the one.

My guess would be Elton John, circa 1975.
