We don't really know enough to even make a guess about it. However if it turns out that space is itself a globe, our universe will probably end in a collision. In fact most models of our universe whether it be the cell in a giant organism or the globular nature of space, which of course begs the question of what is outside of our "space" and many other ideas, we dont' even have enough to go on to call them theories; provide a means of collision. Collision with other forms of matter or even non-matter would likely prove quite fatal for life and or matter of any sort in that universe.

The universe may *not* end. It may be an oscillating universe: Big Bang >> Expansion >> Contraction >> Big Crunch>> "Singularity" >> Big Bang....
If this is the case, most likely it's been going on forever. But wait! No beginning? Doesn't everything have to at least have a beginning, if not an end?
Perhaps. Perhaps not.
I resolve it in my mind like this: I imagine the singularity perched atop the upturned index finger of God. He gently blows a puff of "air", thus creating the first Big Bang. Being the resourceful God that he is, he also enables the universe to recycle itself. Hence, the expansion, contraction, big crunch cycle.
Think of it as evolution being a process of God's creation. :)

Torn apart by gravity.
Gravity may be the weakest force in the universe but over eons it will build up enough speed to tear the universe apart down to subatomic particles. This is due to the massive amount of dark matter and the subtle gravity it produces.
We already see this in progress as massive galaxies are drifting far apart at faster rates as time goes on.
One would think that they would have enough gravity to pull each other closer together or slow their expansion. (Otherwise known as 'The Big Crunch' theory)

Only things that have a beginning have an end. The universe is infinite. That's like having a computer game and asking, how will this monitor explode? It wont. It's just going to sit there. The game would break before the monitor spontaneously combusted.

Why does it have to end at all? The universe is a very large, vast area. Sure the earth may end one day, but it does not mean that the universe will not go on existing forever.

Hundreds of theories ???
There seems to be two ultimate choices..
Big Crunch or Dissipation into the void.
It seems like current credible evidence is pointing
to dissipation...

It will not end. It will enpand and everything will burn until it reaches a state when gravity will stop everything from moving outward and everything will be burned up. At that point everything will begin to be pulled together by gravity until it all reaches on epoint and then there will be another big bang and everything will start over again.

If you believe that the only life in the universe is on Earth then the universe will cease to exist when life on Earth ceases to exist because there will be nothing to observe its existance.
