If you physically stepped all over your daughter, you would hurt her and your actions could be termed demeaning, abusive and inhumane. In a related sense, your daugher is claiming (rightly or wrongly is a different issue), but she is CLAIMING that your argument did this to her emotionally, i.e. disrespected her, didn't treat her fairly, "bruised her psyche" if you will, and so forth.

Though the expression refers to a physical act, it can also mean that you violated her emotional boundaries, by not showing her respect or giving her a chance to think or answer.
Similarly, to walk all over someone is either to treat them really cruelly and heartlessly, or (in a sports context) to defeat them overwhelmingly.

i think she meant it in a way that you stepped all over what she think is right for her.. her rights as a person, as a growing child.. they are now on the stage of deciding what they think is right for them vs. what their parents think is right for them.. maybe you wanna talk to her heart to heart, hear out what she wants and lay out what you want and try to settle somewhere in the middle.. she cant always do what she wants since she's still young and you can tell her that cause your her parent, let her know that you still deserved to be respected.. i know you will have conflicts on this but just be there for her, let her know that and guide her through her growing years..

usually that you interrupted her when she was trying to talk. That you didn't let her tell her feelings or opinions but dominated with your feelings and opinions. Next time try to shut up more and listen to her. Remember, you have all the power. Listening won't hurt you or diminish your power. And you will be able to understand her better.

constant criticism, not letting her be herself, nagging, treating her .like crap.
Not that you actually did those things, kids always have adifferent perspective than we do, and don't know why we do what we do. You should tell her, i nag you because i love you and i want you to grow up to be a good person with good values, i need you to know how i feel about how you're living your life.

It means you did not consider her argument, disregarding her view, words, opinion and overall existence during the argument, only concerning yourself with being correct and making her aware of it.
