Not unless I was killing myself directly afterwards. Otherwise I'd go to jail.. duh.

Wow that would be a hard one to answer. I guess it would depend on the moment. None of us really know what we would do seeing that person laying there in torment and maybe begging you to deliver them out of it, when we could have the the means to do it. I would hope that I would maybe sneak them drugs if the doctor didn't give them enough and make them as comfortable as possible, hold their hand and show them how much I loved them until their last breath is taken. But right at the moment I would have to say no because I believe in miracles and any thing could happen and who are we to play God, even though we all do because we just don't leave it to him. None of us see the big picture and there is always a reason for every thing and we may never know why, but it could be for someone walking by that may change someones life.

Difficult question, if only because assissted suicide or compationate killing is outlawed most everywhere - and where it is allowed there are severe restrictions. But when the pain is entirely too much and it is someone close to you a different set of emotions comes into play, and whatever the laws, and the legal outcome, a person will help, and people at large tend to understand. If I would do it - I hope never have to be in that situation

I do not think I could do it but I am not sure. It was hard to put my dog to sleep years ago even though I knew that she was suffering and I believe that she went to a better place. If I or someone I knew was suffering and had little to no chance to recover then euthanasia might be the best answer... I would not want to be kept alive as a result of life support or have to have a permanent feeding tube.

That would depend on some variables - is his/her condition incurable; since they "seem to lose touch with reality", can I trust their desire to die?
But if his/her condition were incurable and the desire to end all the pain and suffering seemed to be his/her lucid intention, I believe I would help him/her.
I think that everyone owns their own life, and while there are many who may commit suicide for foolish reasons, in the case you've given above, I'd say it would be my responsibility as a friend to help him/her achieve release from intolerable and irreversible suffering.

Yes i would.
After watching my parents die a totally undignified death from cancer, until my father looked like a concentration camp inmate, unable to eat, unable to swallow, only liquid intake being a melting ice cube rubbed across his lips, watching his body spasm in pain as the cancer ate further into him - and this was not a man who was unfit, fat, smoked or drank. He ran his last marathon 6 months before he died, and he was lighter then than he had been at age 21.
So yes, and i would beg, with my dying breath, for anyone to help me in the same situation

No. I would want to, because watching them in pain would be painful and I would want to stop the pain, but I don't believe we have that right.
And if you are in this situation then I would worry most for you, because you would have to live with this as a deed you could never be sure of having decided correctly, never take back, and I think the consequences to your emotional and spiritual state would be too severe for you to bear.

I know it sounds daft, but if my best mate was in pain, and there was nothing else to be done, then i would, help kill her!
But, if she seemed to lose touch of reality then i wouldn't . I wouldn't because she wouldn't know what was happening to her!
Whatever happens, do NOT blame yourself.

I don't know without being in the situation.
Though I saw a bird half dead in the road flapping in pain so I stopped and reversed over it to put it out of its misery.

i could never help someone die. i would instead try to help them through the situation... give them strength and not let them sacrifice their dignity. there is a reason for all suffering, the hard part is to find the meaning.......God gives life and God is the only one that can take it away.

Yes, if they would really be better off dead and when they asked they have sensse of reality. But I ought to love and know them too much, 'cause life is to be respected.
