I've lived away from my family for over 20yrs. My mother died last year and some people here have comments. There is a whole family of people who are in Chgo. to take care of my mother. My sister did not want to be bothered until the last minute, my brother was in jail, and I live far away. I asked my mom if she wanted me to sell my house and come be with her, she said no. I did not visit much because my mother was very verbally abusive. Now, when I am at the so-called friends house, they always seem to have something to say about my situation when they have never met anyone in my family. Yet she sits with her children and smoke weed and drink. One of her sons is a crack head and gay and the other is just a sad drunk with a baby and a lazy girlfriend that he always talks about. I am beginning to hate them.

I think you already know the answer to your question - just are having a hard time accepting it. NO - these people are NOT your friends. You obviously recognized that you needed to be away from this "scene" many years ago as you live far away and have for a long time. The fact that you own a house you could sell to come be with your mom tells me that you have your "act together" in regards to your life. Honor your instincts - focus your memory on the good things about your mom and move on with your life. Don't use up any of your life energy on these people - they do not deserve it!

Well obviously these so called friends have some issues of there own that need to be worked on before they should be judging you. And no I dont feel that they are true friends if they were they would be standing by your side not talking **** to yiou for the decisions you made. one thing to always remember about friends: your best friend will there to bail you out of trouble but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying man that was fun!!!

First of all this person is in position to judge you on any count. What ever happened between you and your family is your personal business.Have you ever heard the verse:" Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone". I can't tell you wher in the bible it is but it's in there.(shame on me for not knowing). Only one person has the right to judge you and that's GOD my advice pick up a bible and read it, you'll be surprise how much the bible can help you through tough times like this. I should know it's helping me right now as we speak. Have faith in yourself be strong read the bible you'll see. God is all you need trust me I know I've learned that myself.

They wouldnt be able to talk about your family if you didnt tell them about them since they dont know them, maybe you should tell them good things about them once in a while.
besides i dont think i would want to hang out at a crack heads house even if they didnt talk about my family.
