It depends upon what you mean by "end".
Eventually, our sun will enter a "red giant" phase, expand to incredible proportions, and engulf the earth. This will happen billions of years from now, and there will simply be no more Earth at that time. Life on Earth will end during the very early stages of this, long before the planet itself has been consumed - due to burning-hot temperatures, toxic levels of radiation, and the evaporation of *all* water (without which nothing can survive).
However, *human* life on Earth will probably end much sooner, as food, fuel, water, and other vital resources grow more and more scarce. Governments will grow increasingly aggressive, as they contend for what little remains, and warfare, disease, and starvation will kill off the human species.
*Civilized* human life on Earth, to split the hair even more finely, will probably end in ten generations or less, for the reasons listed above. Meaningless, powerless governments will continue to exist nominally, but they will have no ability to protect human rights, enforce law, or help their own citizens in any way. Governments will exist primarily to make war with each other, and to protect the relative luxury of the governing bodies themselves.

Even though the sun has 4-5 billion years left to burn, there will come a point as it turns into a red giant that it will lose energy and expanding and start swallowing up the first few planets. The earth at some point will be completely inhospitalble to life.
I don't the human race is even able to survive that long. We'll have polluted and wasted so many resources that there won't be food, water, shelter to allow us to survive. I think we will be our own destruction before the sun does the physical planet in.

As far as we know, everything that has a beginning has an end too, so why should the world be different? On the other side, I think nobody can give a definitive answer to this question: this is just my opinion anyway.

To my own understanding and belief, the world will end because man will meet his own demise from all the terror that is present in the world. One day there will be one big boom created by man because he is too stupid to see that all of these wars will eventually destroy the world and the people that live in it.

I believe some people will live through Armageddon, but the last day will go like this. The angel of the day of judgement will blow a horn (metaphorically. It won't really sound like a horn) 3 times. On the 1st blow, everything on Earth will be struck with fear. On the 2nd, All things on Earth will die. On the 3rd and last blow of the trumpet, everyone who has ever existed will be reassembled into their form when they were alive for the final judging.

Life on earth will in a combination of overcrowding, disease, and extreme climatic fluctuations. This seems to be the contributing cause to any previous mass extinction.
The world will end when our sun explodes.

To be honest, I dont know. But with all the damage that humans have done to the Earth, this planet, one day, will be uninhabitable.
