I really hate to tell you but those are the only choices I know of, besides dial up.

If your so far out you can't get those in your area then Wireless is probably out of the question. (so far I have only seen this already built in to the laptop)

The wireless I an talking about is where a laptop uses a CELL Phone like device. Not the WiFi in an Internet cafe.

Leave Mars immediately and come back to Earth! ;)

Seriously, satellite is probably the only option in a lot of more isolated areas--my stepbrother has the same problem in rural Nebraska. I know it's expensive, but if you need high-speed, it may be the only way to go!

IE7 beta is fantastically sluggish. Their tabs are a lot slower than Firefox's. even if that is not that undesirable. Comcast, on the different hand, has been getting ridiculous those days. i imagine that is because each and each and every of the bittorrent clients are taking on a lot bandwidth. I also observe that on each and every occasion I start up a bittorrent job, the internet connection temporaily dies for about 20 seconds.

You could try wireless Internet but that depends on local providers too. Apart from that you might as well move to the city! Good luck!

Sorry to hear that. Satellite sucks and is very expen$ive. See if anyone offers wireless broadband in your area. Some electric and water utilities offer this at fairly reasonable rates.

Try a wireless/microwave provider. They target remote areas. In Evergreen, CO for instance, wispertel is popular.

Satellite is probably your only option. That or a courier running messages for you to another person with DSL etc.
