Home Depot sells a product called DEER OFF or DEER GONE. I was just there and bought some Dog Away and seen it and another called Critter Be Gone.I've seen people use anything from hair clippings to aluminum pie pans and tin cans dangling on a string. They all work for a while, but they are smart animals. If you use the same method for a long time , they will eventually get used to it and start coming back. Try alternating between the three every couple of weeks. When you use tin cans tie one to a string and hang them close together so that the wind will cause them to rattle together. The flash from the pie pans is supposed to keep them out and the smell from hair is also supposed to keep them out.

Dried Blood, Blood Meal, Human Hair or urine.
Milorganite
All have little to no residual. The Blood products and milorganite are fertilizers that will aid in the growth of your plants and the smell will keep deer, rabbits, ect out of the area. It must be applied a few times and eventually the deer and rabbit will stay out of that area for good.

A fence can keep deer out but not rabbits. They are supposed to be turned off by blood meal or hot pepper sprayed on the plants. However if you live in the country with this wildlife just plant stuff they don't like and enjoy their company. They aren't trying to figure out how to keep us off their land! I don't think either like to eat rough plants like in the daisy family - daisy, echinachea, black-eyed susan etc. Have fun and learn to love Bambi and Thumper.

Don't know about deer, but you can repel rabbits by getting hairclippings from a barber or salon and spread them around the edges of your garden.

In truth . . . if the deer are really hungry they are next to impossible to deter. The liquid spray products work th ebest if, IF you rotate them.
Fences-deer will jump over anything under 7.0 feet high, the hair and urine products are ineffective.
use the liquid products-rotate them, and stay away from what deed like best-ask your local nurserymen about favorites in your area.

A few strands of electric fence! One touch, and "naturally" they'll steer clear of your garden!
